Vaudeville Smash

Event Details

To mark the 50th anniversary of the naming of the Sunshine Coast, Eumundi is celebrating in a big way all weekend. As part of these community celebrations, we’re excited to host Melbourne’s disco/pop dynamos VAUDEVILLE SMASH on Saturday 30 September at 7pm.

As our gift to the community to thank you for your support of our new Eumundi Brewery, we’re giving away up to 300 FREE TICKETS to the gig!  How good is that?!

Simply buy a Eumundi Brewery beer on the day and receive a FREE TICKET.

Get in quick, as they will disappear fast!

An explosion of funk, flute, sax, synth and groove, VAUDEVILLE SMASH pack the dance floor with their high energy good time sets. Made up of three brothers and two mates, they have a sound that’s all their own – a mind-blowingly refreshing sonic feast that fuses late 70s and early 80s quasi-disco dance grooves. In case you’re wondering, their name was inspired by an Italian children’s karaoke machine that was around in the late ’80s.

VAUDEVILLE SMASH have certainly carved their own niche, building a formidable following in their hometown of Melbourne and around the world. Their international adventures have seen them sign with Japan’s P-Vine records, after returning to Tokyo and the Sapporo City Jazz Festival in 2015 for the third consecutive year, where they also filmed the video for their single Richter Scale. Other notable mentions include playing South by South West in Austin Texas twice (having been invited back), shows in New York, Singapore, Toronto for Canadian Music Week, main stage at St Kilda Festival, the Australian Open Tennis, and six unforgettable shows at Woodford Folk Festival 2015/16.

Another exciting chapter in the eclectic VAUDEVILLE SMASH story was the release of their worldwide smash Zinedine Zidane. Featuring the voice of Australian soccer Les Murray, the single quickly became a viral hit, garnering over five and a half million youtube views, and featured in some of the biggest publications on the planet, including Billboard, ESPN, Eurosport and the BBC.

VAUDEVILLE SMASH released their latest album The Gift last year. It’s a synth heavy, sax laden, bass induced journey. A contemporary reworking of the early 80s funk/boogie scene, the album evokes visions of Cameo, Midnight Star and the Gap Band.  This is a gig not to miss. Bring your dancing shoes!

Doors open 7.00pm
