With incredible support from Eumundi Historical Association, Eumundi & District Community Association, Eumundi Chamber of Commerce, Sunshine Coast Council and Experience Eumundi – Look at what’s in store!

Wearable Art Competition
Eumundi Square will be hosting a Wearable Art Competition from 9:00am to noon on Friday 25 August 2017 and are currently calling for entries! (Entries close on 18 August 2017).
There are five different categories: best overall design and construction, sustainability theme, natural dyed creation, best head piece and best student category with the winner of each category receiving $250 in cash. Entrants can also enter their wearable art piece in as many categories as they like providing they qualify…so entrants can win more than once!
The competition is the first “Art Street Eumundi” event which includes a series of art and culture creations in the township from 25th August to 27th August.

Eumundi Art Street – Busk Off!
Calling all musos! This is your chance to be apart of Art St Eumundi’s Street Busk-off heats.
The busking heats will be held at the Performance Tent in Dick Caplick Park with buskers performing throughout the day at eight different sites along Memorial Drive. Judges will vote for their Top 3 and the audience will get to vote for the people’s choice winner. All 4 finalists will then perform in the Slam and Busk in the Bunker at the Imperial Hotel starting at 2pm.

Slam and Busk in the Bunker
Peripheral Arts are excited to deliver a dynamic storytelling event, Slam and Busk in the Bunker, as part of Eumundi Art Street at this year’s Horizon Festival. Come, listen and share ‘stories inside the bunker’ at The Bunker, Imperial Hotel Eumundi from 2pm-4pm on Saturday 26th August, 2017.
Slam and Busk in the Bunker is a cross-medial storytelling event, presented by Peripheral Arts. The event will capture local stories of place through spoken word, slam workshops and a competition afternoon that engages a diverse array of artistic mediums including music, art and storytelling performance.
Interested locals will have the opportunity to share their stories and poetry in Story Slam in conjunction with the finals of the Busk Off competition. There are cash prizes for first, second and third place slam winners as well as the chance to participate in writing workshops and spoken word events later in the year.

Eumundi School of Rock, 2017!
Following the incredible success of the inaugural program last year, Eumundi School of Rock returns to Horizon for 2017 with a brilliant performance and learning experience for budding local rock stars.
With professional mentoring and development, 20 scholarship students at primary and junior secondary school level will get good at their musical craft and form proper rock bands’ – Come to the Launch Event at Eumundi Amphitheatre Saturday 26th August.
Gates open at 5.00pm with Street Food Eumundi Style, with show starting at 6.00 with the famous North Arm State School marimba band. Also featuring top rock outfit The Thump and the new Eumundi School of Rock Showband. Plus the scholarship winners for 2017 and at top of the bill, Sunshine Coast unearthed pop ingénue Ayla.
Students from grades 3 to 8 either living in, or attending schools within the 4562, 4561 or 4563 postcode districts are welcome to apply.
The 2017 program kicks off June 12, and applications close by 28th July.

Successful scholarship winners will be announced at the School of Rock launch event on August 26, as part of the upcoming Horizon Festival of Culture and Arts.
