As part of the 50th anniversary of the naming of the Sunshine Coast, Eumundi celebrates its story! From 29 September to 1 October, there’s a full weekend of family-fun, community events. As a gift for generations to come, a time capsule documenting the weekend will be buried.
Stop in Friday to share a yarn and create some art with our local indigenous storytellers and artisans at Deadly Collective hosted by Deadly Espresso Café. Slip on those retro digs and head out to Joe’s Waterhole for a 1960s-dance party later that night. Prize goes to the best dressed!
On Saturday, straight after the markets, grab a spot along Memorial Drive to welcome the Grande Parade and jump-start the afternoon at the iconic Imperial Hotel’s Eumundi Brewery Celebration. There’s fresh brew, food and live music with the infamous Vaudeville Smash headlining!
Settle into Sunday with Family Fun Day at Dick Caplick Park. Sausage Sizzle BBQ, Your Mum’s Undies cricket and heaps of activities for the kids gets the day started at 9am. Finish off the weekend with some ballroom dance lessons at Templeton’s Dance Studio—it’s never too late to learn to tango!
The good times don’t stop here, as all the photographs from the weekend will be included in the 50th Anniversary Time Capsule at the Eumundi State School early on in the new school term.
With so much to see and do, spend the weekend in Eumndi! The festivities begin Friday and run through to Sunday. Wander through our art galleries, shop the world-famous markets and brunch-up at our quirky cafes. Come and experience all Eumundi has to offer!
