POSTPONED – Parks Sounds – Eumundi

Event Details

POSTPONED until 21 July

Join us with your picnic rug on Sunday 21 July from 1 – 4pm for PARK SOUNDS – a fabulous afternoon of FREE live music in Dick Caplick Park, right in the centre of town. The line-up will see ALISHA TODD, MAJELEN and SMOKE & RAIN take to the stage!

ALISHA TODD
From her humble beginnings being raised on country and 90’s pop in Gympie, to opening the lid of Pandora’s box of worldly delights, Alisha has sung her way through it all with a fiery passion that only grows with time.

2013 brought the release of her debut EP ‘Of All Time’, a 5-track collection of country-pop inspired songs that was warmly received. ‘Without Us’ earned Alisha three Dolphin Awards finalist nominations and ‘Charlie’ was finalist in Pop Song Of The Year for both Dolphin Awards and The Music Oz awards.

She then set off on a three year journey of self, social and musical discovery through Europe, and planted her feet back on home soil in 2018.

Her latest EP ‘Live At Sonic Vista Studios’ is a collection of live solo acoustic performances recorded at Sonic Vista Studios in Ibiza, inside a 400 year old finca.

Her latest single release ‘Icelandia’ is a dreamy, guitar laden love song, swimming in soaring vocal harmonies that transports the listener to the unforgettable peacefulness of Iceland.

Alisha’s profound affection for fusing jazz and pop with an earthy roots flavour creates a brew that warms you from the inside and embraces your physical being in a musical mumma squeeze.

MAJELEN
Brisbane-based guitarist and singer MAJELEN is one to watch in the indie/folk music scene. With a unique percussive acoustic guitar style, Majelen’s music is combination of ground-breaking technical fluency and speed, thought-provoking lyrics, improvised melodies and captivating stage presence.

Since completing her studies in Jazz Guitar, she’s spent the last few years travelling the world, performing, and writing the framework for her debut recordings. Majelen has had the opportunity to perform alongside some of Australia’s most accomplished musicians including James Morrison, Kristin Berardi, Gus Cereijo, Elly Hoyt, Katie Noonan and Emma Dean; and was selected to perform as the guitarist in the 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony.

Majelen released her debut solo single ‘Me and You’ last year, followed by ‘Angels in the Dark’ and combined these releases with shows throughout Australia, Asia and the UK. She’s soon to release her EP ‘The Light’ – strongly influenced by jazz and blues, as well as the many cultures she has grown to love.

SMOKE & RAIN
Joining us from Newcastle, NSW, SMOKE & RAIN play music for the body and the soul – grooves to get you moving and melodies full of emotion. With a singular goal (auditory pleasure), they’ll take you on a journey through the rhythmic drive of funk and the sensual introspection of R&B.

Consisting of members Cormac Grant, Healey Olsen and Manuel Rohrl, the trio is inspired by music with a great groove and the lyricism to match.

They’ve created a unique blend of sounds that can have them going off at a Friday night venue or taking extended instrumental breaks at a jazz club.

N.B. This is an alcohol-free event
