Idyllic Eumundi is a small town with a big creative heart. Located in the lush Hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, it is surrounded by green pastures and organic farms, and just minutes from stunning beaches and the pristine waterways of the Noosa Everglades. The shopping, galleries, restaurants and bars are pretty awesome too!

Famous for its vibrant arts and crafts scene and markets, Eumundi has a unique vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. This is a creative little place and it’s not until you spend a few hours exploring the town’s boutiques, cafes, and bars that you can appreciate that the whole place oozes something that’s naturally very special.

How to Get to Eumundi

First things first…how do you get here? Eumundi is just 90 minutes from the bustling town of Brisbane and just over twenty minutes from Noosa. It’s also well connected with other parts of Australia, with regular flights into Sunshine Coast Airport from key Australian cities such as Adelaide and Melbourne, as well as international services from New Zealand. The sleepy airport is just over twenty minutes away and a delight to arrive in to – you can feel yourself begin to unwind as soon as you hit the tarmac!

First stop Eumundi Coffee Roasters on the main street for fresh roasted coffee to die for. These guys know how to add flair to their brews and you’ll be delighted by the delivery and service. The venue is pretty special too and a cool spot to idle a while, soaking in the Eumundi vibe.

Shopping in Eumundi

Coffee done, it’s time to head to the colourful markets or the main street for what’s probably the most original shopping you’ll find anywhere in the world. 

Eumundi Markets

Explore the Eumundi Markets, which are held every Wednesday and Saturday (and Friday – see Eumundi Square below). These markets are renowned for their diverse range of stalls offering handmade arts and crafts, international food, fashion, and much more. Take your time to stroll around the extensive and varied stalls, meet local artisans, soak up the Eumundi vibe and discover unique treasures and gifts for yourself or someone special. 

Eumundi Markets are a collection of markets, each with their own personality. Look out for the coloured swirling flags and you’ll find The Original Eumundi Markets and handmade goods galore! You’ll be amazed by the amount of stalls and the range of goods on offer.

Eumundi Square is also open on Fridays and offers the perfect opportunity to experience the markets without so much hustle and bustle. This is a permanent precinct full of stalls and eateries and there’s often live music and entertainment to glide your path.

Boutique Shopping in Eumundi

Eumundi’s main street, Memorial Drive, is a haven for creatively designed boutiques that offer a shopping experience like no other. 

Cinnabar Witch is well worth a look, with ritual, mystical and apothecary supplies for the modern sorceress! Its sister shop Cinnabar Soul is a peaceful crystal sanctuary which begs you to enter and experience the wisdom of the stones.

Eumundi & Co. has been lovingly designed by Kate, who really knows how to set out a shop. Kate has designed other interiors in town such as the gin distillery at the Imperial Hotel. It’s located in the Eumundi heritage listed old bank and sells a mixture of dried and fresh flowers as well as beautiful clothes and a whole host of other lovely things.

Eumundi Emporium is a collection of boutiques, selling everything from leather bags to jewellery,  cushions, cool hats and wooden sunglasses. It’s forever evolving and always worth a sneaky peak – the resident dog is pretty cute too!

Pearls for Girls. Located halfway down Memorial Drive, Pearls for Girls specialise in creating beautiful, handcrafted jewellery using naturally cultivated pearls and precious stones. Each piece is unique, making it an ideal place to find a special gift.

Eumundi Style. Crossing over Memorial Drive, you’ll discover Eumundi Style, a chic boutique catering to fashion enthusiasts. They offer a range of gorgeous clothes made from natural fabrics and adorned with fine prints. The designs are inspired by the local climate and lifestyle, ensuring comfort and style. In addition to clothing, you can also find beautiful accessories, homewares, and gifts, making it a one-stop-shop for all your fashion and gifting needs.

Eumundi Pavilion. This idyllic little precinct has some great little shops, The Summit Coffee Bar, eateries and even a Hawaiian style Tiki Bar serving up cocktails in the coolest setting. There’s an occasional live music venue too at The General, which is great for delicious smokey food, and you’ll even find a stylish fitness studio here.

Eating Out in Eumundi

After immersing yourself in the market atmosphere or checking out the unique boutiques, grab a bite to eat at the market or one of the many cafes or eateries in town. 

Eumundi has several charming options that serve delicious food made from locally sourced ingredients. The Imperial Hotel has a great new menu and BASK Eumundi is a chic award winning restaurant offering long lazy lunches – and dinners, just divine! If you’re after something fast or need to fill your kids boots, PC’s Pizza and Burger Bar is the place.

The markets have a substantial international food section selling an impressive range of tasty options. It’s great for sampling on the go or grab a seat, watch the world go by and soak up the chilled vibes.

Surrounding Nature

Once you’ve satisfied your hunger, you can explore the surrounding natural beauty of Eumundi. Just a short drive away, you’ll find Eumundi Conservation Park, where you can go for a bushwalk or hike along the scenic trails. The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, providing an opportunity to connect with nature and for kids to run amock!

Alternatively (or as well!) Ball Lookout is great for a sunset and just a couple of minutes drive out of town. Grab your sundowners, you’re in for a romantic treat!

Eumundi sits amidst three UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, creating a haven for wildlife. This region, with its expansive green hinterland, organic farms, rolling hills, and majestic mountains, is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and the ancient waterways and stunning coastline make this one of the most loved destinations on earth!

Art & Museums in Eumundi

Eumundi Museum is always worth a look and is forever evolving, with specialist exhibitions and fascinating artefacts. Our museum is an important part of the Eumundi Experience and located in the recently refurbished old wooden Methodist Church at the heart of town. We believe it’s one of the prettiest museums on the Sunshine Coast!

The Eumundi Street Art Trail will take you on a perfect tour of town. It pretty much encompasses all the major sites and can be done in half an hour if you get your skates on. The art is phenomenal and you’ll end up in the characterful Imperial Hotel for some refreshments. Of course, there’s art everywhere in Eumundi, so keep your eyes peeled and look out for stalls and galleries selling local artistic treasures as you go.
