Located on Eumundi’s main street, Matso’s Brewery is directly opposite the site of the famous Eumundi Markets, and most definitely ‘worth crossing the road for’.
This historic pub was originally built in 1891 and known as the Commercial Hotel. Since then, it has burnt down (circa 1924), been re-built (1926) and had a name change or two. In 1962 local legend and practical joker Joe Whiting famously swapped it for his sugarcane factory in Maroochydore. In 2023 it transformed again, as Matso’s Sunshine Coast breathed new life into the space.
Bring the family down (including the family pooch) and enjoy Australia’s original alcoholic Ginger Beer on ice in the sunshine.
