Eumundi Museum

Eumundi Museum is the proud custodian of Eumundi’s colorful history and houses a wealth of fascinating artifacts.

Our museum is an essential part of the Eumundi Experience and located at the very heart of the town, in the recently refurbished old wooden Methodist Church. We believe it’s one of the prettiest museums on the Sunshine Coast.

The museum was recently lovingly renovated and reopened in May 2022. It is home to a significant collection of historical artifacts and tells Eumundi’s story, beginning with the first people.

Themes include:

Indigenous history; the early settlers; the timber industry; farming; the hospital; transport; military history; natural history; and the markets.

Traditional Custodians of Eumundi

The traditional custodians of the land surrounding the town of Eumundi are the Kabi Kabi. They have lived here for countless thousands of years and it’s believed that Eumundi was named after a Kabi Kabi elder from the early 1900s.

The museum often welcomes short-term exhibitions, so it’s worth checking in frequently.
